Abstract Objective : The use of surgical guides in implant treatment increases the accuracy of the dental implant positioning compared with hand free methods. However, deviations of actual implants from their intended position (Virtual planned) are established in all kinds of surgical guides. This study was established to compare two techniques of surgical guide fabrication, 2dental model optical scan3 (Triple scan) and impression inversion with markers. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on twelve patients recruited from the Outpatient Clinic of the Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University. Each patient received implant using surgical guide. The patients were divided into two groups. The first group (group A) with surgical guides obtained from dental model optical scan (triple scan) and the second group (group B) with surgical guides obtained from impression inversion with markers. Patients were scanned by CBCT after two weeks from surgery to compare the accuracy of linear and angular deviations between planned and actual position of implants placement by dental model optical scan versus impression inversion with markers |
