Abstract This thesis is concerned with the development of simple and accurate methods for the determination of some steroidal drugseither alone or in combination with other drugs. Different methods have been introduced for determination of the analyzed drugs in their pure form and either in pharmaceutical dosage forms or in biological fluids, in the presence of degradation products/impurities or metabolites using modern analytical techniques such as spectroscopy and chromatography. ALC-MS/MS method was developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of dexamethasone, prednisolone, phenytoin, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine along with oxcarbazepine metabolite in human plasma using eslicarbazepine acetate and hydrocortisone as internal standards. RP-HPLC methods using ultraviolet detection were applied for the simultaneous determination of three betamethasone esters-containing mixtures along with two excipients of their dosage forms using clobetasone butyrate as internal standard, betamethasone valerate and fusidic acid (Mixture {u04C0}) with chlorocresol as a preservative, betamethasone dipropionate and clotrimazole (Mixture {u04C0}{u04C0}) with benzyl alcohol as a preservative, betamethasone dipropionate and calcipotriol monohydrate (Mixture {u04C0}{u04C0}{u04C0}) andfor simultaneous determination of dexamethasone sodium phosphate, hydrocortisone, fluocinolone acetonide, ciprofloxacin in presence of dexamethasone and ciprofloxacin impurity C, in bulk and in pharmaceutical dosage forms |
