Abstract Introduction: MRI is the modality of choice to assess the extent of bone tumors, and their relations to Neurovascular bundle and nearby joint space, however its ability to characterize bone tumors is limited. Purpose: A retrospective study that aims to assess the value of different MRI sequences, especially DWI to differentiate benign from malignant bone lesions. Patients and methods: 58 pediatric patients (58 lesions) between 2-18 years were included in the study, 28 were benign and 30 were malignant. Results: ADCr showed the highest discriminatory power between benign and malignant bone lesions, followed by mean ADC, maximum and lastly minimum ADC. Conclusion: Quantitative diffusion weighted imaged has the ability to discriminate benign Keyword: MRI, bone tumors, Diffusion, ADC, ADCr |
