Abstract

The objective of wastewater treatment is generally to allow human and industrial effluents to be disposed of without danger to human health or unacceptable damage to the natural environment . The design of wastewater treatment plants is usually based on the need to reduce organic and suspended solids loads to limit pollution of the environment Waste stabilization ponds are biochemical treatment systems, which processes and operations are highly dependent on the environmental conditions. The objective of the study to identify the effect of temperature, relative humidity and other Meteorological elements wind speed and Possible sunshine duration on natural wastewater treatment parameters to check the suitability of waste stabilization ponds (WSPs) for treating wastewater plants specifically designed to treat waste water by natural purification process. This study was carried out on four wastewater stabilization ponds with different capacity where Hurghada WWTP is located in Red Sea Governorate with capacity of 18000m3/d which represent Eastern Coast Sector , El {u2013}Mofty Elkobra is located in kefir El Sheikh Governorate with capacity of 316 m3/d which represent Delta Sector , Qous WWTP is located in Qena Governorate with capacity of 15000m3/d which represent Southern Upper Egypt Sector and Ballana WWTP is located in Aswan Governorate with capacity of 32000m3/d which represent South Egypt Sector
