Subjects and method: A case control study of 20 patients diagnosed as having OLP. 10 patients applied N.sativa oil (1% gel preparation) and 10 patients applied Triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% in orabase topically ; both treatments were applied 4 times daily for 4 weeks and follow up was done clinically 2 and 4weeks post treatment using the numerical rating scale (NRS), the change in symptom scale (CSS) and the modified oral mucositis index (MOMI). Results: There was significant improvement in clinical signs and symptoms 2 and 4 weeks after treatment in both groups, there was no statistical significant difference in mean% reduction in all of the measures of symptoms and signs scale between the two groups.
