Abstract
In this research, response modification factor (R) for dual structural system (shear walls and moment resisting frames) of reinforced concrete medium height buildings. Different parameters are considered including stories amount, floor height, bay amount, shear wall distribution and shear wall amount. Comparisons by structural analysis program are made between results deduced from the current study and R-factor values given in the American Code (UBC-97)
