Abstract

Isoflurane and Sevoflurane are the most traditional agents used in anesthesia. Trans-cranial Doppler is widely used to monitor the effects of anesthetic drugs on cerebral blood flow (CBF) it is a non-invasive technique which can be used to observe velocity, direction and properties of blood flow in the cerebral arteries by means of a pulsed ultrasonic beam. Near infrared spectroscopy is a popular technique for monitoring the cerebral oxygenation state during anesthesia. After ethics committee approval and informed consent from parents, 20 pediatric patients aging from 1-6 years were randomly allocated and divided into two {u200E}groups (10 patients in each group), using isoflurane for maintenance of anesthesia in the first group (group A) and sevoflurane for maintenance of anesthesia in the second group (group B)
