Abstract

Objective: The aim of this prospective study is to compare anti-Müllerian hormone, antral follicular count and the ovarian response prediction index in determining the ovarian response to controlled ovarian stimulation in women attending for invitro fertilization (IVF). Material and methods: In this study eighty (80) women aged below 40 years attending for IVF.The patients were subjected to controlled ovarian stimulation followed by ultrasound assessment and ovum pick up; we used antral follicular count, AMH measurement, ovarian response prediction index (ORPI) to determine the ovarian response. We correlated between ORPI values with the total number of oocytes and the number of metaphase II (MII) oocytes retrieved. Results: In our study we included 80 women below the age of 40 attending for IVF to compare between AMH, AFC, and ORPI, we found that the cut off value of ORPI is 0.3643 between poor and normal responders. We found a significant correlation between AMH, AFC, and ORPI and ovarian response regarding the dose of FSH used in stimulation, number of oocytes retrieved and number of MII oocytes,But with comparison between the three, there was no significant difference. Conclusion: The present study describes ORPI, which is a simple 3-variable index that exhibits an e ability to predict a low ovarian (less than 0.3643) with a sensitivity of 82.5% and specificity of 76.5% in infertile women.AMH, AFC or ORPI can help to predict the ovarian respose choose the protocol of induction; determine the dose of gonadotropin and prediction ovarian hyperstimulation but not to pregnancy outcome
