Abstract

This the study was performed to evaluate the effect of the collagen crosslinking abilities of Galla Chinensis Extract (GCE) on the micro shear bond strength durability of self-adhering flowable composite to dentin. M&M: Fifty two extracted human molars were selected, enamel surfaces were flattened. The teeth were randomly divided into two main groups (A) (n=26). (A0) was for self-adhering flowable composite without GCE (control) and (A1) was for self-adhering flowable composite with GCE. Each main group was divided into two subgroups (T) according to time of testing; (T1) after 24 hours, (T2) after three months (n=13). All specimens were stored in artificial saliva. Micro shear bond strength test was conducted immediately after 24 hours and after three months using universal testing machine. The results showed that the highest micro shear bond strength was for GCE group after 24 hours storage and the lowest mean micro shear bond strength for the control group after three months storage. There was a statistically significant difference (p{u2264}0.001) between the GCE groups and the control groups on the mean micro shear bond strength of Fusio{u2122} Liquid Dentin. Conclusion: GCE as a natural cross linking agent could be of positive value on the micro shear bond strength of self-adhering flowable composite and time has no significance on the micro shear bond strength
