Abstract Humeral shaft fractures account for 3% of all fractures .Non surgical management of humeral shaft fractures are falling out of vogue. Among the surgical options available for closed humeral shaft fractures are DCP and Antegrade Intramedullary Interlocking Nailing. The present prospective study conducted at Al helal hospital between December 2014 to December 2016, compared two groups of patients (n=20, n=20, total n=40) with either DCP or IMN. The results were compared both radiologically and clinically. The functional outcome was assessed using the constant score. Our results failed to establish convincingly that either technique is superior to other. Hence the study concludes that both techniques are equally useful in the management of humeral diaphyseal fractures |
