Abstract Objectives: Knee ultrasonography has become more commonly performed over the past decade, due to being available, safe and relatively easy procedure. In the present study, the main objective was to prove the ultrasonography ability of diagnosing different non-osseus peri-articular knee joint pathological diseases compared to magnetic resonance imaging . Methods: Knee ultrasound examination of 50 patients (30 female and 20 males ) was performed using high frequency (12-15MHz) probe, and was compared to Magnetic resonance study of the knee joint . Results: The preliminary results have showen the great complementary role of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of different pathological conditions of the knee joint. Conclusion: Ultrasound is an easy, safe and reliable method of investigation of different peri-articular non-osseus knee joint diseases |
