Abstract

In the last decades, large amount of effort and resources have been spent in projects and programs aiming to develop rural communities.
Nearly (60%) of the population in Egypt lives in rural areas; where they usually suffer from complex socioeconomic problems and increasing mortality and morbidity rates.

This study aims to evaluate quality of life among rural inhabitants in Al- Hamidia village by measuring the quality of life index among them regarding overall quality of life index (QLI), health / functioning, psychological / spiritual, social / economic and family subscales of quality of life index (QLI), and by finding the relation between their level of satisfaction of quality of life index (QLI) of rural inhabitants in Al-Hamidia village and age, sex, marital status, number of children, education, working status, and socioeconomic status.
