Abstract In all of the samples, Lactobacilli were detected. In 2 samples, no S. mutans were detected after incubation. The most efficient methods of transporting and incubating the bacteria were determined by observing the number of cultured bacteria, the higher being the better (in comparison with different transport and incubation methods using the same sample). The microbrush has proven to be a reliable method of sample collection. The most suitable transport medium was concluded to be saline. The most suitable incubation settings were determined to be anaerobic in an atmosphere containing 10% CO2 at 37°C. |
