المستخلص Qalyubia governorate is located at the head of the delta, east of the Damietta branch. It is bordered to the north by the governorates of Dakahlia and Gharbia, to the south by the governorates of Cairo and Giza, and adjacent to it to the east by the Sharkia governorate. It is also bordered to the west by the Menoufia governorate. Together with the governorates of Cairo and Giza, it formed the first region of the Republic’s regions, which is the Greater Cairo region. On the other hand, it is characterized by its moderate climate. This supported by the presence of large areas of fertile agricultural lands, in addition to the leftover branches of the Nile that extend within the borders of the governorate, and the diversity of mineral resources. The location of the Qalyubia governorate has many comparative advantages, as it is considered the link between the governorates of Lower Egypt and the governorates of Upper Egypt. One of the important advantages of the site is the levelness of the land of the governorate, with the exception of the eastern governorate, meaning that there are no natural obstacles such as mountains or other natural obstacles. The Qalyubia governorate consists of 10 cities and a new city representing the urban sector, in addition to 50 rural local units that include a group of dependent villages, estates, hamlets, and hamlets forming the rural sector, which is the largest sector in the governorate. |
