Abstract The present study was achieved at the Experimental Farm of Agriculture Faculty, Kafrelsheikh Univ., Kafrelsheikh Governorate, during the two seasons 2015/16 to 2016/17. Three commercial cultivars as testers namely, Gemmeiza 11, Sids 12 and Sakha 93 and ten exotic lines from CIMMYT were employed using line x tester design. In 2016/17 season, the 30 F1’s and their thirteen parents were evaluated in randomized complete block design with three replications under normal water regime (four irrigations) and water stress (only the planting irrigation). The aim of this study was screening some exotic wheat lines with higher yield potential to develop productive wheat cultivars under normal water and stressed conditions and select the superior combinations to be further used in new breeding programs for water stress conditions. |
