Abstract
Background: Infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis (IHPS) is the most common surgical cause of vomiting in infancy. Methods: An interventional comparative non randomized prospective study of 40 patients underwent pyloromyotomy for IHPS was done.20 patients by Tan-bianchi approach and 20 patients by laparoscopic approach. Results and conclusion: The study revealed that the two techniques are nearly equal regarding operative time, the presence of complications, time to reach full feeds, recurrence of vomiting, postoperative hospital stay and cosmoses. However, Tan-bianchi approach takes the upper hand regarding patient satisfaction and weight gain after 2 month
