Abstract

The current study was carried out along the period from February 2014 to March 2014 and tries to evaluatethe effect of iodophors on the microbial load of (air, drinking water and litter), Oocyst count and immune response of broilers as well as on their performance. The experiment was done on twenty seven thousands and eight hundred cobb-day-old chicks, obtained from Elsalehen Co., Chicks was classified into four Groups (A, B, C and D ) each of 6950 birds. Starting from this age 2one day old3 until the age of 235 days3, group A and B Vaccinated with coccidial vaccine 2Coccivac B3, group B and C received iodophors in drinking water (0.4 ml in a liter drinking water) day after day beside aerosolized with iodophors (1 ml in a liter for aerosolization) twice/week. group D is control without vaccination or iodophors. The chicks were housed in closed built up litter houses. The house was thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to receiving the chicks. The floor was covered by a uniform layer of wood shaving (5-7 cm) thickness. The temperature and relative humidity inside the house were thermostatically controlled all over the experiment and according to the recommended standers, started with 33{u00B0}C at day one, then declined gradually till 23{u00B0}C at the end of experiment, RH% kept between 60% to 70% during the experiment All groups had the same vaccination program, management, feed source and medication program.Feeding was availablead libitum with pan-feeders. The chicks were fed on a starter, grower and finisher ration. The ration was obtained from ORGANO FEED company. The result showed that after using iodophors as a sanitizer for water, air and litter, the total bacterial count of air, water and litter was reduced. Finallythe performance parameters include final body weight, total feed intake, food conversion ratio and mortality rate were improved in the treated group with iodophor without coccidial vaccination
