Abstract Esters mainly result from the condensation of a carboxylic acid and alcohol. Hydrolysis of esters into their respective organic acid and alcohol alkali and acid. This thesis is concerned with the analysis of two selected drugs which containing ester groups namely Nicardipine Hydrochloride from anti- hypertensive class and Pravastatin Sodium from anti-hyperlipidemia class. In this work different stability indicating methods were developed for the determination of Nicardipine and Pravastatin in the presence of their alkali induced degradation products and in dosage forms using spectrophotometric and chromatographic techniques which would be feasible, sensitive and specific |
