Abstract The proper diagnosis of an intrabony defect on the distal surface of the second molar is important for successful treatment during third-molar surgery. The preoperative anatomic relationship with the second molaqr is also a critical factor. The present study showed clinical improvements of defects treated with porous titanium granules or left unreconstructed (control), but no statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups. Defect reconstruction with porous titanium granules slightly significantly increased radiographic bone defect. Recommendation :Porous titanium granules has proven to preserve bone height in sockets of extracted wisdom teeth but still needs to be covered by collagen resorbable membrane |
