Abstract Background: Popliteal artery atherosclerotic occlusive disease is common and difficult disease facing any vascular surgeon. Methods: This thesis aims to study the efficiency and safety of endovascular treatment of chronic popliteal artery occlusion. The study was conducted on 30 patients. All patiens had balloon angioplasty for popliteal lesions in the period between 1/10/2015 to 30/9/2016. Results: The results showed technical success in 93.3% and primary patency rate for 3 and 6 months is 73.3% and 60% respectively. Conclusion: We concluded that the balloon angioplasty is simple, safe and effective procedure in treatment of popliteal artery chronic occlusion |
