Subjects: Sixty patients(37 males – 13 females) diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy, their age ranged from fifty to sixty years old from Farskour Public Hospital in Damietta were assigned into two equal groups in number. The study group received treatment by high tone therapy in addition to traditional physical therapy program. The control group received treatment by only traditional physical therapy program 3 sessions per week for 3 months for both groups . Methods: all patients were evaluated with Katz Index of Independence, Motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV), Measuring Glyclated Haemoglobin Level (HbA1c) and Foot Function Index (FFI) 2 times before and after the study. Results: Control group included 19 male and 11 female, Study group included 18 male and 12 female . Results showed that there is a significant increase in the mean values at post-treatment of MNCV at lower limb and a significant decrease in HbA1c percentage between study group and control group in favor of the study group, no significant differences in the mean values at post-treatment of FFI score and KATZ scale between study group and control group. Conclusion: High tone power therapy is effective in treating neurological symptoms in patients with diabetic neuropathy. |
