Abstract

At this study, an experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of some postharv-est treatments by using 1-Methylcyclopropane (1-MCP) and Methyl Jasmonate (MJ) at 3 concentrations for each Tommy Atkins mango fruits for maintaining quality throughout the storage period at 8oC±2oC and extending shelf marketing at 20o±2oC. (1-MCP) was used at 750, 1500 and 2250 ppb dipping for 5 minutes. Also (MJ) was used as vapor at three concentrations (10-4μl, 10-3μl, and 10-2μl) for 24 hours. After MJ applying treatments, jars were opened, good ventilated; Then all treated fruits were stored at 15, 30, 45 and 60 days. After each storage period fruits were holding to ripe at 20oC for7days, at the end of storage period either 8oC and 20oC, fruit quality characteristics (Weight loss, Decay percentage, Firmness, Respiration rate, TSS%, Total Acidity %, TSS/TAratio and Vitamin C)were evaluated. The results revealed that (1-MCP) at 1500 ppb and storage at 8oC for 45 days was the best treatment. Also The results revealed that (MJ) at 10-3μl and storage at 8oC for 45 days was the best treatment for maintaining fruit quality after cold storage and the following ripening period at 20oC
