Abstract Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic pruritic inflammatory skin disease with a frequently remitting and relapsing course. There is a mutual relation between the neuroendocrine system and the immune system, including the skin. Different mediators are responsible for this relationship including Serotonin. Atopic dermatitis, although not often a life threatening diseases, still creates a profound impact on the lives of patients with severe psychosocial distress and impairment of normal activities. |
