Abstract In accordance to our study findings, we found that methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) isolates were multi-drug resistance (MDR). Cefoxitin (FOX) and Oxacillin (OX) were used to detect phenotypic of MRSA because MRSA resistant to them. The presence of mecA gene by PCR technique to investigate the MRSA strains by genotypic methods. The result revealed that MRSA isolates have the ability to form biofilm by appear black colonies on congo red agar method and violet color by microtitration plate method. We found icaA and icaD genes by PCR technique in many strains of MRSA. Therefore icaA and icaD could be used as indicators for biofilm forming of MRSA. Results showed that green tea extract has greater antibacterial activity among all other extracts used. The maximum value of the inhibition zone of green tea extract noted against MRSA isolates is 28 mm while the inhibition zone of Pencillin, Tetracyclin, Oxacillin, Azithromycin and Amikacin was 0 mm. And by transmission electron microscope (TEM) showed that the isolates with treatment by green tea extracts revealed that cell deformation, membrane and cell wall rupture. So, the green tea extract can be used as complementary medicine in treating diseases caused by multi-drug resistant of MRSA. However, further the extract of green tea have various biological properties as antibacterial, antitumor and antioxidant. |
