Abstract

Introduction: Oral cancer is a common and aggressive cancer with high morbidity, mortality, and recurrence rate globally. Early detection is of utmost importance for cancer prevention and disease management. At present, the application of traditional noninvasive methods is limited by insufficient sensitivity and specificity. Compared to current imaging contrast agents, nanoparticles are more biocompatible, easier to synthesize, and able to target specific surface molecules.Aim:The aim of the present study is to early detection of the oral cancer by using Au spherical nanoparticles and SERS spectroscopy. We compare between oral cancer cells and normal epithelial cells as a control group through different SERS signals.Material and methods: collect 10 samples oral squamous cell carcinoma (cell line) Collect 10 samples from normal epithelial cells, the samples will be kept at -80oC until the day of analysis, the supernatant will be mixed with colloidal Au nanoparticles of 10-15 nm diameter, the Raman spectra of the examined samples were detected, the measurement wavelength range of the spectrometer is from 200 to 2200 nm. Results:the application of AuNPs increased the rate of cancer detection in the normal and cancer cells compared to using Raman only. Conclusion:AuNPs were utilized for enhancing Raman spectroscopy as a non-invasive technique for screening and diagnosis of oral cancer (HNO).
