Abstract Objectives: to compare between safety and efficacy of sublingual and vaginal misoprostol in termination of first trimesteric missed abortion . Method: A total of 288 women who diagnosed as missed abortion in their first trimester. Will be divided into 2 groups A and B. group (A) will take Misoprostol as sublingual route and group (B) will take as vaginal route. Both of them will have the same dosage 800 micrograms every 4 hours up to five doses. Results: There was statistically significant difference between both groups regarding occurance of complete abortion as sublingual route is more effective in termination of first trimesteric missed abortion than vaginal route however sublingual group developed more side effects than vaginal group. Conclusion: Sublingual misoprostol is more effective than vaginal route in termination of first trimesteric missed abortion however side effects developed more in patients received misoprostol through sublingual route |
