المستخلص
Photo coverage of terrorist events receives great attention by newspaper
portals, as they are classified as events of increasing news value; Because it
involves an increasing amount of conflict. The photo press coverage also plays an
important role in conveying these events and their details to the readers, so the
researcher seeks to make this study a shed light on what Egypt witnessed in the
last years of terrorist events since the June 33revolution, through press photos by
analyzing the photo coverage in electronic portals. To the Egyptian newspapers,
determine the extent of their interest in the graphic coverage of terrorist events
and monitor the visual frames employed by those press portals.
The research problem
The research problem is identified in analyzing and monitoring the photo
coverage of terrorist events, namely (the accident of the Russian plane crash in
Sinai 5303, the accident of the Petrosari church bombings in 5302, the terrorist
attack on Al-Rawda Mosque 5302), to determine the visual frames that were
employed by a sample of the portals of Egyptian electronic newspapers, the study
sample, which are (Akbar alyom the representative of the National Press, AlMasry Al-Youm Portal the representative of the Private Press , and Al-Wafd
Portal the representative of the Partisan Press) , during the period from -5303
5302. And comparing them to determine whether there are differences in the
nature of the photo coverage between the portals of the study newspapers, and the
current study is a comparative analytical study in the light of the “Visual Framing
analysis” approach.
Objectives of the study
The study aims to monitor the illustrated frames employed by the electronic
portals of the Egyptian newspapers - the study sample - representing the national,
partisan and private press, in their illustrated coverage of the terrorist events that
targeted places of worship ( El Botroseya Church bombings, the armed attack on
the Rawda Mosque) and the crash of the Russian plane in Sinai, up to To
determine the goals of using these press photos, in addition to how to use the
formative elements of the photos through the determinants of semantic analysis
