Abstract

In recent years, many underground car garages are constructed due to limited usable land available in major cities. Most of the underground car garages are constructed at the basement of commercial or residential buildings. The main feature of such underground car garage is its enclosed condition. When a fire breaks out in an underground car garage, a large amount of smoke is generated with high temperature leading to poor leakage ability and difficulty in evacuation and providing clear access for fire fighters .So smoke management for enclosed garages has been the most priority in the designs of the underground car garages. Smoke management system including impulse jet fans and water sprinkler system designed according to NFPA-13 is used to make fully smoke management design for underground car garage during operation of more than 50 vehicles emitting species at 177 C with carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide contents including surface temperature of these vehicles during summer morning with total heat release rate of cooling system of these operating vehicles to the surroundings about 85 KW
