Bacground : hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignancies in the world, making it the 5th most common cancer for men, and 9 th for women worldwide (Parkin et al., 2005; Parkin, 2006). In Middle Eastern countries, liver cancer is a major concern among men, especially in certain countries such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and to a lesser extent in other countries of this region (poustchi et al.,2010)
