Abstract About 338 ovaries were collected from Nahia and El-Warraq slaughter houses during December 2013 till May 2014 (breeding season). Excellent COC were matured in vitro in TCM-199 or Ham’s F12 media contained 10% fetal calf serum (FCS) or 10% fetal dromedary camel serum (FDCS) supplemented with different antioxidants 100æM/ ml Ý-mercaptoethanol (ÝME), 100æg/ ml royal jelly (RJ), 100æg/ ml ascorbic acid (Vit C), 100æg/ ml selenium (Se) and 100æM/ ml melatonin (MEL) under controlled condition (38.5 {u00B0}C in 5 % Co2 for 24 hours in humidified air) . Recovery rate was 8.1 oocytes/ovary and the maturation rate was significantly higher in ÝME and Se supplemented TCM-199 medium enriched with FDCS compared to control medium (p<0.05), while there were no any significant difference found between the control group and the different antioxidant supplemented groups in TCM-199 medium enriched with FCS or Ham’s F12 medium enriched with FCS or Ham’s F12 medium enriched with FDCS. Additionally, TCM-199 has superior effect on the maturation rate of dromedary she camel oocytes than Ham’s F-12 and The FDCS has higher effect on the maturation rate of dromedary she camel oocytes than FCS |
