Abstract

Effect of telmisartan (10mg / kg), TQ (10mg / kg), Ý glucan (80mg / kg) and parsley (600mg / kg) on glycerol induced ARF associated with gastric ulcer.1) Administration of telmisartan (10mg / kg), TQ (10mg / kg), Ý glucan (80mg / kg) and parsley (600mg / kg) improved the impairment of renal functions through the significant reduction in S Cr, BUN, UTP, Kw/Bw ratio and increase in creatinine clearance as compared to R.F+GU group. 2) Administration of telmisartan (10mg / kg), TQ (10mg / kg), and Ý glucan (80mg / kg) improved the impairment of renal functions through the significant reduction of potassium level as compared to R.F + GU group. 3) Administration of telmisartan (10mg / kg), TQ (10mg / kg), Ý glucan (80mg / kg) and parsley (600mg / kg) improved the gastric ulcer through the significant reduction in gastric ulcer, gastric index, biochemical and histopathological examination. 4) Administration of telmisartan (10mg / kg), TQ (10mg / kg), Ý glucan (80mg / kg) and parsley (600mg / kg) as protective offered a nephroprotective and gastroprotective effect compared to RF + GU group, as manifested by a significant attenuation of lipid peroxidation as evident by decreased renal and gastric TBARs contents and protected against severe depletion of the anti oxidant enzyme pool as evident by increased renal and gastric GSH contents and increase SOD activity, associated with a significant increase in kidney and gastric tissue NO3- / NO2- content as compared to R.F + GU group. 5) Administration of telmisartan (10mg / kg), TQ (10mg / kg), Ý glucan (80mg / kg) and parsley (600mg / kg) significantly decrease TNF Ü content, MPO activity and caspase 3 activity as compared to R.F + GU group. 6) The histopathological changes shown had confirmed the biochemical changes recorded in the present investigation
