Abstract

Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate and compare the marginal adaptation of pontic and non pontic sides of a two unit cantilever zirconia framework fabricated using Computer Aided Designing- Computer Aided Milling. Methodology: After metal die construction, 15 samples of unveneered zirconia cantilever framework was divided to 3 groups: (6mm2, 8mm2 ,10mm2). According to connector surface area . the samples were constructed from zirkonzahn blocks using the zirkonzhn system. Frameworks were sintered and seated on metal die. Using a digital magnifying microscope the vertical marginal adaptation was recorded and evaluated and compared. Results: a statistically significant effect was found between 6mm thickness connector, 8mm thickness connector and 10mm thickness connector regarding marginal adaptation on pontic side compared to non pontic side. Conclusion: the increase of the connector dimension had more impact on marginal adaptation of the pontic side compared to the non pontic side
