Abstract The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of recent functional MRI techniques (Including DW-MRI, DCE-MRI & MRS) in diagnosis and the characterization of ovarian neoplasms & also in their management. Ovarian masses present a special challenge for two reasons. First, they are the leading indication for gynaecologic surgery. Second, ovarian cancer remains the leading cause of death from gynaecologic malignancy; it is the second most common gynaecological malignancy with the highest mortality rate of all gynaecological malignancies and an overall 5-year survival rate of 46%. MRI is a valuable tool that has been used to discriminate benign from malignant or borderline from frankly malignant ovarian tumours with a major role in the diagnosis, management, and follow up |
