Abstract

Fat injection is an innovative surgical option for post burn scar contractures tissue treatment that provides an effective approach in cases that cannot be treated with traditional procedures. Fat injection and percutaneous aponeurotomy is a simple, safe and effective procedure Fat injection and percutaneous aponeurotomy is, natural, autologous, permanent usually non scarring regenerative alternative to flap reconstructions. Mild, Moderate and broadband contractures have the best functional and aesthetic outcome after fat injection and percutaneous aponeurotomy. Dorsal contractures have better results than volar contractures. Maximum tissue expansion after fat injection and percutaneous aponeurotomy is achieved by wide areas meshing and it is limited to 20 {u2013} 30 percent. Fat injection and percutaneous aponeurotomy is less cost, time consuming and technically demanding with short recovery time compared with the open surgical procedures. This result is encouraging and suggests further research to assess adipose cell properties, extracellular matrix composition, and the essential requisites for routine clinical applications
