Abstract This study included thirty-six patients (36 patients: 16 females & 20 males). We are aimed at evaluation of the role of contrast enhanced MRI and quantitative diffusion- weighted imaging with ADC mapping in the detection of recurrent / residual post- operative soft tissue sarcomas. Of the 36 cases, 27 patients were proven histologically to have post-operative recurrent/residual soft tissue sarcomas and 9 patients had post-operative and treatment related changes (inflammation/fibrosis ).The diagnosis was confirmed after the MRI examination by histologic biopsy according to standard histopathological procedures in most of the cases. The DWI was obtained with 3 b values including 0, 400 and 800 mm/sec. The Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) was generated by measuring identical images at different b-values and represented as ADC map from which ADC value was calculated |
