Abstract The intake of all types of drinks increases with the advent of modern life, but the intake of cola drinks increases much more than any other drink. Pepsi Cola and Coca Cola are a cola category for a wide family of soft drinks referred to as soda pop. This study aimed to study the teratogenic effects of soda on fetuses by evaluate the congenital malformations, and skeletal abnormalities, evaluate histological examinations of placenta, estimate the degree of DNA fragmentation in placental tissue (Comet assay), determine biochemical analysis of some parameters. Material & Methods Eighteen females rats, where divided into three groups; (group 1) taken soda with low dose (1 ml/kg body weight); (group 2) taken soda with high dose (2 ml/kg body weight); (group 3) control group taken distilled water. |
