Abstract The study aimed firstly to evaluate the chemical and biological values of local canola meal (LCM) for broiler diets, and secondly to determine the effects of feeding different levels of LCM protein (0, 30, 60, and 90%) as replacement of SBM protein in broiler diets, in addition to determine the efficiency of NSP degrading enzyme and phytase in broiler diets contained high level of LCM. The results showed that, the presence of essential nutrients implies that LCM could be utilized as a safe protein in poultry diets with no detrimental effect on growth performance. Economically, LCM can be used in broiler diet to replace up to 60% of SBM protein (approximately as 21.75, 18.45, and 19.93 % of diet quantity at starting, growing, and finishing periods, respectively) without negative effects on growth and immune response of broilers. |
