Abstract Security and safety are basic needs for human, and that need was emphasized in Egyptian communities recently. Timothy Crowe’s literature highlighted certain strategies for urban designers and users to reduce crime and feeling of unsafety, and classified these strategic tools into natural design-based and electromechanical-based strategies. Through reviewing previous works of pioneer scholars, a set of guidelines has been concluded as matrices, then validated empirically using questionnaire surveys and physically using a physical case study that’s used also for testing the effectiveness of the strategies. |
