Abstract Thyroid nodule is the most common encountered disease in thyroid gland, clinically. Hence, differentiating the nodule as a malignant one is a major clinical issue, especially with the increasing prevalence of radiologically diagnosed thyroid nodules reaching up to 67% This study aimed to evaluate the thyroid nodule using ultrasonography (US), shear wave elastography (SWE) and Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC), and to compare between them. This study included 104 patients with thyroid nodule(s), assessed preoperatively by US, SWE and FNAC. The results compared to the postoperative pathology. The results are displayed in form of sensitivity, specificity, Negative predictive value (NPV), positive predictive value (PPV) and accuracy. The significance is displayed in terms of P value. |
