Abstract Arthroscopic transosseous rotator cuff repair using the giant needle leads to significant midterm improvement in ROM and satisfactory mid-term subjective outcome scores with low complication and failure rates. The future of this needle technique is to treat rotator cuff tears arthroscopically in a cost-efficient manner. This technique could be a viable option in the treatment of rotator cuff tear, but further studies need to be performed to evaluate long-term clinical and radiographic outcomes of this technique and comparing it to the transosseous equivalent anchor repair regarding clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction and rate of re-tears: Rotator cuff tear represents a challenge for the surgeon. The real problemis not to merely reattach the tendon to bone but to promote the healing process between tendon and bone. In fact, during all the surgical procedures, surgeons must keep in mind which processes, steps, and aspects to use, that bring the tendon to healing. Considering all of these factors, it may be possible to reach success in rotator cuff surgery. |
