Abstract
The overall incidence of scaphoid fractures progressing to nonunion is approximately 10% and can be up to 30% for the proximal pole fragment whose vascularity is often jeopardized because of the tenuous, retrograde intraosseous circulation of the scaphoid. The objectives of treating scaphoid nonunions should be to achieve bony union, restore its shape, and normal carpal anatomy
