Abstract Avian Influenza virus considered one of the most hazardous viruses which devastating the poultry sector. Antiviral drugs were the vital line of defense against it, but virus has evolved to resist antivirals. Consequently, discover new potent antivirals is a must. So, green tea is a vital source as knowing for its potent effect on respiratory viruses specially influenza virus. Ten chicken flocks were examined and sampling was carried out from suspected birds to be infected with AIV in Sharkia and Dakhlia Provinces, Egypt, during 2014-2015 (chicken broilers = 4, and chicken layers = 6). Vaccinated and non-vaccinated birds are included. Three to five chickens were submitted from each studied flock. Tissue specimens (Trachea, lungs, liver, brain and intestine) were collected from diseased birds and pooled together for virus isolation. Virus Isolation on ECEs and rapid hemagglutination were performed and the result revealed that the harvested allantoic fluid has a positive hemagglutination activity by 80% and 20% in samples obtained from broiler chickens and layer chickens respectively. |
