Abstract This paper was carried out to provide further evidence in the possible association between chronic periodontitis and the adverse pregnancy outcomes as preeclampsia by investigating the serum and gingival crevicular fluid level of TNF- alpha (TNF-Ü) in sample of Egyptian pregnant women. Patients chosen to participate in this study were allocated into two groups: group (A) included 10 pregnant females suffering from chronic periodontitis. group (B) included 20 pregnant females suffering from chronic periodontitis and preeclampsia. The pregnant female’s age ranged from 22 to 24 years. Both groups consisted of patients with singleton gestation of equal socioeconomic level. The detailed procedures were clearly described to all patients selected in this study and gave written approval consent as they were subjected to general clinical examination, periodontal examination and immunologic investigation |
