Abstract
Background & Aims: Ascites is a major complication of cirrhosis with poor prognosis and significant mortality affecting the patient aspects of life. Health related quality of life is patient’s subjective assessment of his state of health, which is a rising method for patients follow up. This study aims to evaluate the quality of life in cirrhotic patients with ascites and effect of treatment used and ascites related complications on their life pattern.Conclusion: Ascites reduced the quality of life of cirrhotic patients. The age of the patients, Child score, development of complications and the type of treatment used have a negative effect in their quality of life
