Patients with ovarian cancer often present late and are diagnosed at an advanced stage, The international standard of care for early stage disease is surgery followed by chemotherapy with the possible exception of those who have low - risk, stage I tumors, advanced ovarian cancer is managed by initial or interval maximum surgical cyto - reduction, followed by chemotherapy. Conservative treatment of ovarian cancer is safe for properly selected cases who desire children with no change on disease progression or overall survival with close follow up of these patients |
