Abstract Aim and hypothesis To determine the frequency of Binge Eating Disorder (BED) among obese adults, and to study relation to depression, anxiety, life stressors, personality and self esteem. The hypothesis, increasing rates of BED is related to personality/Psychiatry aspect. Background It is known fact that obesity is a major public health problem and the prevalence of obesity is increasing in all countries. One of the major eating disorders that contribute to obesity is BED, which involves consuming large high carbohydrates food.BED is a serious condition to contribute to significant psychosocial dysfunction. Methods The sample was a randomised obese sample { body mass index (BMI) equals 30 or above}The selection of cases have been held in two sites (Nutrition Clinic in Students Hospital Cairo university and a Private Nutrition Centre).They were 50 cases recruited through one year |
