Abstract

The aim of the study is to survey plant parasitic nematodes species that parasite on fruit trees and vegetable plants at the SEKEM organic farm located in El-Sharkia Governorate. Also to use a new approaches of biological control against root-knot nematode by using compost, compost tea, green manures and dried ground seeds , crop sequence, Bio-products and amino acids. Study results the presents of plant parasitic nematodes associated with some fruit trees and vegetable crops seven genera of plant parasitic nematodes Meloidogyne, Rotylenchulus, Tylenchulus, Criconemoides, Tylenchorhynchus and Helicotylenchus were found to be associated with different organically grown plant they were found infesting soil with different frequencies of occurrence and population densities according to host plant. The greenhouse and laboratory studies were conducted with mature (animal and plant) compost produced in SEKEM. Meloidogyne. incognita J2 activity was inhibited by all tested compost extract concentrations (25%, 50%, 75% and 100% extract) with > 55% inhibition after 72h. Compost was investigated as an amendment for suppressing populations of M. incognita and increasing plant vigor
