This study presents a computational study of the characteristics of aircraft postcrash fires. Fire Dynamics Simulator software version 5.5 is utilized to simulate one of the fire tests performed by US Federal Aviation Administration in order to provide further validation of the computational approach . Then the study used more advanced model to examine carbon monoxide concentration, fire spread, smoke spread and visibility inside the airplane cabin {u2003}
