Abstract

Mannheimia haemolyticais an opportunistic pathogens, which is an important cause of bacterial respiratory mortality in cattle, sheep and goats. Disease control or elimination requires the induction of protective immunity. This is best achieved by inducing long-term protection sufficient and rapidly reactivated into immune effectors in case of pathogen exposure. Two developed types of gamma vaccines have been used compared to conventional formalin killed vaccine (FK).Gamma irradiation vaccines used were optimum irradiation vaccine full dose (GF) and high irradiation vaccine (HG). The optimum irradiation vaccine was evaluated by two doses, (GF, (4X109 bacterial cells / dose) and optimum irradiation vaccine half dose (Gh), (2X109 bacterial cells / dose). The vaccines were injected S/C two times with three weeks intervals. After three weeks from the 2nd vaccination dose, the animals in all groups were infected with M. haemolytica two times with one week interval. The antibody production was evaluated using Absorbance (A) value as an indication of the antibody production and the efficiency of vaccine against M. haemolytica
