Abstract
The short follow-up period indicates that additional study with long-term follow-up in a larger number of patients is necessary to validate these issues .All the areas could be observed and managed under rigid endoscope. As the lateral nasal wall was kept intact, the nasal physiological function, such as humidity, warm and cleaning, may well be preserved. The diffuse or severe diseases of maxillary sinus, especially a tumor originating from maxillary sinus, may be the potential indication for prelacrimal recess approach. Whether or not it could be used for dealing with malignancy of maxillary sinus needs further study
